SPA Mission Statement
The Mercy Primary Care Center Specialized Personal
Assistance (SPA) program is dedicated to offering homeless
individuals and families in our community a warm shower
and clean clothing in a respectful manner that maintains
their dignity, while encouraging personal growth.
The SPA program also provides our homeless clients
with assistance in accessing existing community programs
for housing and substance abuse treatment as needed
to improve their quality of life.
About the Program
The SPA program addresses one of the most basic of our
needs and rights as people – that of being clean.
The SPA program provides a shower, coffee, new undergarments
and clean clothes to the homeless five days a week.
Services provided, in addition to showers and clothing,
include the provision of coffee and snacks, a Bible
study conducted three times each month as well as substance
abuse counseling and other health classes. The SPA program
is provided through Mercy Primary Care Center, a continuing
ministry of Trinity Health, a tax-exempt health care
system.
